Need to Get Rid of Stubborn Aches and Pains? RAPID NFR might be an option for you!
RAPID NeuroFascial Reset (NFR) is a newer soft tissue movement-based therapeutic technique that addresses the central nervous systems role in alleviating tension and restrictions within muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.
Before we take a look at RAPID treatment, here’s a quick review of the nervous system and define what an adhesion is:
Nervous System
There are 2 types of nerves / nerve information: Sensory and Motor.
Information flow in nerves, either goes:
Toward the brain (sensory inputs) or
away from brain (motor outputs to control movement).
Finally, there are different types of receptors that sense pressure, movement, pain, and temperature.
Adhesions
Adhesions are overstimulated pain receptors that cause tightness or knots and can also cause nervous system inflammation.
Signals from these adhesions cause the brain to become stressed which can create a lock down in the bodily tissue.
The brain locks down these tissues causing:
Pain
Loss of strength
Decreased range of motion
This neurological lock literally binds up and ties down tissues. As this process continues, muscles become shorter and weaker, tension on tendons causes tendinitis (tendon inflammation), and nerves can become entrapped (stuck between tight surrounding tissues).
Causes of Adhesions:
Acute conditions (pulls, tears, collisions, etc.)
Accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma)
Old injuries (chronic inflammation)
Tissue not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia)
RAPID Treatment
What Happens during a RAPID treatment session?
▪Every session is actually a combination of examination and treatment
▪RAPID trained therapist uses their hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves
What Does It Feel Like?
▪Hypersensitive areas are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements
▪RAPID sessions may be uncomfortable during the movement phase of the treatment. This occurs as the neurological system is being stimulated to restore normal function
Conditions That Can Be Treated Using RAPID NFR:
Low Back Pain
Sacroiliac Dysfunction
Shin Splints
Baker's Cysts
Arthritic Joints
Pronation (inward rolling) and Supination (outward rolling) corrections
Sciatica
Bursitis
Bunions
Plantar Fasciitis
Knee Pain
Quad and Hamstring Pulls
Based on my experiences and numerous testimonials from other RAPID certified therapists, RAPID is very effective and can quickly minimize and/or eliminate pain.
